Tron (probably will have spoilers at some point)

Post by stitch626 »

It was awesome!!

That is all.

Ok, I'm not good at reviews, but I loved the movie. Great music, decent story, few plot holes (even less if you play the game, which takes place between the original and this one, but its not necessary).

And the very end is a nice touch...

I too thought it was awesome.

I enjoyed it more than Dawn Treader, but I think Dawn Treader is probably the hardest of the series to adapt to cinema, so I think they did a decent job.

Did anyone see it in 3D ? I saw Dawn Treader in 3D last night and it didn't really add much; it was a conversion after the fact. A proper 3D movie really needs to be shot with 3D cameras and have a plot and scenes to specially take advantage of 3D.

I'm seriously contemplating getting the soundtrack from amazon right now. Yeah I know the US version is incomplete but I'm not going to search under every nook and pay import fees for a few more songs (ok, 9, but its still not that worth it to me).

I saw it for my birthday in IMAX 3D. Have to say, it was damned impressive visually, though I might have changed a few things if asked to polish the script.

Namely:
NOT ENOUGH TRON FOR A MOVIE NAMED "TRON"! I can't stress that enough; I like Bruce Boxleitner, and I think having TRON as himself for at least the last 10-15 minutes would've been great. I guess they didn't feel like spending more than the token effort they made to also de-age Boxleitner for the flashback scene. Or something. The ending sets it up for another movie, and I suppose they could expand TRON's role in a third movie, but Jeff Bridges was a major draw for Legacy, namewise, and without him, I doubt they'll make another one (given the middling box office so far).
I had fun, though. Can't wait to watch it again when it's released for DVD.

What I really like is the way they made it so that the video game was part of the whole thing, but was not necessary for a person to understand the movie. But I agree, I would have loved for a little bit more of Tron in the end.

Though my favorite part is that they didn't kiss. It has been so overused that I'm glad they decided to go without it.

I read the review on the game, and read that it sucked badly.

And in this day and age, they really could have used a sex scene with Oliva Wilde.

First off, all of the reviews I've read that said the game was bad were poor reviews. Most rated it bad because you actually needed to watch the first movie to understand the universe you are playing in (no explanation to waste time, the game just starts). This is a good thing (IMO).

Really, I like it. The story is told, and if you don't grind intentionally, it can be very hard (fun too).
My only complaint really is when you continue after you have won (and you keep your skills), it can get a little dull.
But, gets harder each time you complete the game, so on your third run through, it is 2x harder than it was at first. So it makes up for the boringness.

And in this day and age, they really could have used a sex scene with Oliva Wilde.
In a Disney movie... and one semi-intended for minors? Not gonna happen.

Then the need to make an unrated/uncut version first next time, and put the good stuff back in for us perverts.

Dude, seeing her wearing her circuts and nothing else would have been awsome.

Like what, circuits printed strategically on the outfit, hinting where to look? Or the 4 Sirens joining Sam at the club, and hinting at 'exclusive access' instead of the information he needs? Or Sam practicing his User powers, catching the Siren as the club explodes, so she falls in his arms instead of dying?

Lots of ways to do it, but with the skin-tight oufits, movie watchers will be notice if the guys are enjoying it too much.

At that point, we might as well make an all female Tronette video and call it porn.

This answered a long standing question of mine. I guess the colors were more than, good guys blue and bad guys are red. Thank to the Trom Wiki http://tron.wikia.com/wiki/Program
A program's circuitry colors vary depending on a program's beliefs or functions, or in very rare cases, emotions. Programs are roughly classed by several major colors.

Blue
Believe in and/or fight for Users
ENCOM or Tron system security programs
Users (later changed to white circuitry)

Red
Does not believe in Users
Believes in and/or loyal to the MCP
Repurposed programs loyal to Clu

Yellow
Hacker/Search Programs
Fights for independent programs
Corrupted Programs
Virus (Abraxas)

Green
Military Programs (such as tank drivers)
Virus (Some have yellow or neon green circuitry)
Gibson.

Purple
fCon programs
In the Deleted Love Scene from Tron, Yori has purple circuitry, possibly denoting that circuitry colors can change due to emotions
Briefly on Kevin Flynn when transitioning from orange to blue in the Solar Sailer scene
White (In the Tron Legacy era)
Neutral programs
ISOs
Users
