Get him to take charge of mankind at the height of their power with STCs still around etc. and get him to wage war on the eldar so that they get their s**t together and in one stroke you prevented the birth a of chaos god, the eye of terror and the need for ever having a crusade.

Well, not entirely correct afaik. The bitching orgy of the eldar created the warp storms, the birthcry of slannesh cleared out the storms and created the eye of terror.

Small detail though, since the rough timeframe is the same which means our good Emperor of Mankind is a few couple 10k older than one of the chaos gods:).
