Tam looked at Jennifer suspiciously. "How many happy-time pills did she take?" he asked. Shaking his head he went with the group.

Peter glanced over his shoulder at Tam. "She's on triple dose, ever since she found out she was a mutant. The Computer was concerned with her becoming depressed over it."

Peter opened his mouth, paused, and seemed to think better of it, because he shut his mouth again and cleared his throat. "Well, The Computer said so, so..."

"Well, I think it's just wonderful that she's getting the help she needs. Friend Computer is a wise benefactor." Patrick followed the others out the door, still wearing his pointed grin.

"Well said!" Jennifer chirped. Peter just kept his mouth shut and lead the group on, through a series of pathways and halls until they came to a wide open area with several slightly raised platforms scattered about. Roadways crissed and crosses through the space, winding along side this or that platform before heading off back into the complex again.

One of the platforms, marked out in bright red, had a digital sign on it reading "Transbot Tubeway Platform A8:C7:60:FF". It was located somewhat out in the middle of the room, the only clear path there across the streets on which an occassional vehicle would zip by on in a blur.

"Well, look both ways?" Tam said as he scanned the street to see if it was clear to walk across.

"Don't worry, Friend Computer is looking out for us!" Jennifer announced, and without hesitation literally started skipping across the roadways.

"Anyone want to bet a credit on her chances?" Peter asked.

"Sure, the clinically insane are naturally lucky," Tam said without emotion.

Patrick grinned, "Well, you have to admire her attitude."

0813 - "No, I don't think I do," Mike said dryly as he gauged the traffic.
