Re: [WH40K] Vassal 40K, Warhammer 40K Online
I second the nomination of the Gaunt's Ghosts series because of a) its take on the galaxy of war from a man's prespective - as opposed to an alien's or Space Marine's - making it easier to relate; and b) Dan Abnett's statues as far and away the best Black Library author. I'd also recommend his Eisenhorn trilogy as a take on the milieu outside the standard warfare stuff.

Eisenhorn is very good. Don't get attached to anyone.

Good rule of thumb for thst entire universe.
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

I think thats one of the things I like most about the WH40K universe that I know of. It has to be one of the grimmest and most...well realistic view of war that I can think of.
