I was in the Navy and I can tell you that the food will make people ill. I worked in galley for four months straight working 18 hour days. The 'cooks' are no better than anyone who can open a box or can and put heat on it. That's pretty much it.
I did not peel potatoes but I did crack thousands of eggs per day for breakfast. I got pretty good at cracking 3-4 eggs per hand at the same time.
