I'm still hoping its the bridge, as unrealistic and vulnerable as it might be a giant balcany style command center would be awesome.
Not like it would have great view. They would be staring am right into their own ship.

Maybe the other side has a gigantic viewscreen!

Scale can't be right on that...

Cool pic, though.

The other shots we've seen from the trailers; the ship seems to be about 1,600 meters in length. Admittedly, the width wasn't represented that well, but it looks to be about 1,400 meters wide in that shot.

It's a promo poster. I doubt perfection of scale was utmost on their minds.

You're probably right, JJ loves Star Wars and they always use vulnerables bridge with giant windows awaiting fighters to crash inside.

LOL

Hopefully for Starfleet there are no A-Wings in this movie!!
One of the trailer show what could be fighters. ;)

I doubt perfection of scale was ANYWHERE on their minds. Would movie posters be done "in house" or by an outside advertising company that has nothing, at all, to do with ship design or production?

Usually out of house, especially in foreign markets.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Keep in mind all the other Trek posters out there. First Contact's poster made the Borg Cube look several kilometers wide. (Though I wouldn't mind the cube being larger)

Though I have an issue with the size of the ships, I recognize the Abramsverse being substantially different than the Prime verse.

Oh and that ship is a beast. No other Fed ship has that feel.

Is it truly Federation? I was under the impression its a ship of a splinter group.

It's certainly got all the features of a Federation design.

Looks Federation to me. Maybe they stoke a design that got shelved or have Starfleet ship designers under their belt.
