I'm not too sure about whether those are the same type of guns, but just going by the relative size of the launch tubes I'd wager that the Valkyrie is about the same size as one of Galactica's flight pods, perhaps a bit bigger. That'd put it around 700 - 800 metres long. Definitely in the light carrier size.

One possibility that springs to mind is that the Valkyrie class may be designed as long-range patrol ships.

The majority of those are non-canon, and some of the others are from the Original Series. There're some nice official renders though. I didn't realise Majahual was that big.
