Meanwhile, you guys built the Vanden Plas, which has an engine larger than some New England states.

And, since it was built by British Leyland, was the car of "That'll do". RE: 5 miles and the roof collapsed.

The Jaguar Vanden Plas? I've known a few people that owned them, and they had no worries at all (except when normal replacement became necessary and they had to obtain mortgages to get parts.) It's not like the Jaguar Taurus Ford S-Type Ford-era S-Types.

Yes, that's the one. My old wrench had an XJ12 on his premises once with the hood up and the engine on a lift. I couldn't believe the size of it.

Would'a been a 5.3HE model, in an XJ12. It's one of the moments where British automotive engineering shows its MASSIVE excesses, and a lot of it being used for AGES. the Jag V12 and the Rover V8 have been used in cars since the 50's. The Rover V8 survived even till 2009 in various forms.

As for the confusion, I read Vanden Plas as the brand name which existed in the BL era over here.

It sure looked a hell of a lot bigger than a 5.3. I used to see 5.3 V8's at least three times a day, 6 days a week, with a domed "Vortex" intake. A 5.3L V12 would seem like an awfully small cylinder volume.

The highest the Jag V12 ever went was a 6L but that was a later engine used in the Xj13.

I'd advise touching base with Mark when he's back around more regularly. I've been helping, but it's really his baby at this point.

As I explained via PM (posting this for the public at large)....read EVERYTHING Delta related, pick a job and ship, create a character (or two...I'd suggest no more than two at first), and PM to me. I'll read, and let you know if anything won't fly.

Remember, we try to keep it real. No supermanning. Leave that to the crew of the Enterprise, Defiant, or Voyager.

Sorry for the mammoth post, guys - I was trying to incorporate some "play" buttons Mark and I had discussed.

I loved it. I'll have to write "mook" down for some dialogue down the road :)

So, just to be sure we're all on the same page. Sinclair and Robustelli are going to retrieve the Defiant class, USS Majestic. They will get that ship, and head off on the last known pursuit course of the Daystrom and the baddie ship. Another Defiant class, the USS Chivalrous will arrive to tow the Ravage into Limbo station. While there, she'll get her new Doc....Alex, have your first post ready.

Then, the Paladin will swing by the station, drop off the Farseer, hook up with the Ravage (who'll be in a better trim than before, since I'm thinking we can ditch the AWACS pod with the Daystrom on site transmitting........this is open though and I'd appreciate thoughts here.) and head in. Meanwhile, the Daystrom will arrive eventually at the baddies base, meet the leader, discover the "weapon", and have to make some seriously dark choices. I'm PLANNING on the Majestic arriving first, and getting engaged by several of the smaller and weaker ships, slowing her down but not stopping them. Then, the USS Cavalier makes her appearance with a couple of other ships, which is when the Paladin will arrive to do battle with her sister ship. I'm debating on destroying her, or recapturing her. This well be going on around a huge space battle, which will give everyone a chance to play, while Mikey deals with the leader, Holmes deals with the weapon, and our Romulan liaison will have to make a decision that will have a huge impact on things to come. This will all be the beginning of the "final battle".

Everyone got the general gist? lol
