After the huge storm blew through last night, the dense fog of the early morning was eventually burned off by summer sun mixed with humidity you could with a knife. And yet, inside, the AC was set to arctic , as I pulled up the covers. Sometimes, simple pleasures are the best!

So, here's something that will hopefully make you folks laugh and/or smile today. I was going through my Twitter feed, when someone posted the question, "What's one movie you can watch over and over again?" I thought of Episode IV of Star Wars, but accidentally typed in Star Trek: A New Hope. Although to be fair, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is also a movie I can watch over and over.

Weirdly, Star Trek V is, unlike Star Wars V, not quite so watchable... :p

Hoping that after weeks of nightly fireworks ad nauseum, that last nights big bangs will be the end of it!

Colors are pretty as they go boom over your house, until something catches on fire!!!

Update: sadly the booms continue overhead still :madashell:

Made my grocery delivery order today, and amongst the varied items I requested was a jar of dill pickle spears. Simple, right?

Oh no no no, I got a jar...a GALLON jar!!! Went back to read the invoice, was supposed to get a regular size jar.

Bonus(?) for me....anyone want a pickle, or ten?

As the first heat wave of the summer begins (more than 3 consecutive days of 90 degrees or above), I am thrilled to have working AC !!!

Heat wave continues...A/C working overtime...cool showers are both delightful and as a bonus, makes my hair shiny (by closing down the cuticle, or some other wizardry).

Heard a bunch of REALLY loud bird noise outside the window, and looked out to see a congregation of grackles (aka starlings/blackbirds).

I quickly opened the window in a noisy manner, and *poof*, they all flew away and the air was peacefully quiet again.

A few years ago, a huge grouping of the beasts had set up a roosting spot close by, and after a maddening couple of weeks, a neighbor set some tiki torches ablaze and smoked them out. I really should have sent over a muffin basket as a thank you.
