Did you see the cap MM&I put up? Perhaps having compatability view turned off initially magnified the effect.

I can't see any blocky text, I can see a lot of jpeg artifact from the compression.

My picture is clearer (.png) but it's the same as MM&I's and similar to the current main page.

On the last page before MM&I's.

Here it is again:

Ah, yes. That's Firefox on Linux and it looks as it's intended to look. I'm still not sure if people are saying that that looks blocky or not. It looks fine to me.

Doesn't look bad, just a little more squared than the prior font.

Ah, well it's free and the other was commercial which means we couldn't make it downloadable. This is the font that has been available for ages on the main page. Now it's automatically used even if you don't download and install it. The benefit to you is a much faster loading site. The benefit to us is that we don't need the nearly 2,500 images that exist on the site just to display menus, page headers and sub-titles. It will save us about 20-30 MB of disk space and should reduce the bandwidth for the site.

I have the downloaded font (at home, at least) but this just seemed a bit different. Could be the onset of old-timer's disease, I guess.

I'll check it when I get home....I have more options there.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

In the "title" bar on the left (the one that looks like an LCARS) long names are getting cut off for me.
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

Have you forced a reload there? Also, what web browser are you using?
