Re: Looks like we've found our Han...

I don't think I've ever seen a movie with him in it but aesthetically I can see it.

Re: Rumours, news and general speculation

She's fugly on every possible level. That design should have been left as a footnote in history and nothing more. Plus the CGI is terrible.

Re: Brexit

I am beginning to agree with you as time passes. Lord Heseltine wrote a piece for the Guardian at some point suggesting at around 350 members of parliament have already voiced their discontent with leaving europe so they sit in a truly precarious position; Represent their electorate (staunchly divid...

Re: Brexit

I find myself a member of the generation who, of those that turned up, voted overwhelmingly to remain in the EU. I feel personally that I have lost a big part of my identity in stopping being a citizen of the European Union (eventually) and all the benefits it entails. I do not necessarily support t...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

Sounds like trying to use credit in Great Britain before the EU. My dad was once entertaining a number of international internal clients/vassals in a high-end London restaurant, and attempted to pay for dinner with his company-issued American Express card. Well, Amex wasn't welcome there, so the gr...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

I have spent the entire day trying to take on a new client with the most horrendously complicated stock inventory, 4 currencies as well as GBP and a complete moron running their accounts team. :bangwall:

Re: Trekyards

I think the Akira is one of my favourite classes. I love the design, it somehow looks threatening. I get what you mean about the Klingonesque feel; the nacelles and wings are reminiscent of the Vorcha.

Re: Trek XIII general news and rumours

Reminds me of the Concept of the small scout ships in the Vanguard series of books, the USS Sagittarius (or the Archer class).

Re: What is it about the 40k Universe that appeals to you?

As you say, the Lore in general is incredibly diverse and equally hazy. I believe the Emperor has the strength to hold back the creatures of the warp due to his immense psychic fortitude; he really is a one in a trillion kind of Psyker. As for the "fueling", I believe it is stated in this ...

We have those in the States too... only they have no roof, bigger wheels, and they're classed as motorcycles. http://www.trbimg.com/img-55e101cb/turbine/la-fi-hy-can-am-spyder-20150829-001/650/650x366 We have similar. Piaggio/Gilera/Yamaha/Peugeot all make them. http://images.mcn.bauercdn.com/uploa...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

They used to sell the Sonic here as the Chevrolet Aveo before Chevvy pulled out the market and left it to Vauxhall (the Corsa I believe is closely related to the Sonic). They seem pretty solid little cars (he says little, my own Peugeot being slightly smaller  ). Nice purchase! On that note, M...

I loved the BBC interview with Lord West, former First Sea Lord, as you he was on the edge of cracking up the whole time.

Re: Simplicity vs Power in Computing.

I'm not so sure that the overall public are as bothered about open and free vs simple and restricted; more their own experiences with them. We have had two desktop Macs that were both middle to upper range models and were both terrible (due to slow down after a few months, general lack of supported ...

True on all counts Sunny. I suppose if the infrastructure of your empire is properly sorted out and organised properly, which the Tau seem to have a knack for, you would only expand once you had adequate tech in place to substitute the rapidity of the Warp.

Not being able to use the predominant form of interstellar transportation is a bit of an issue.
