Re: Romulan Fleet
Looking more powerful than you really are doesn't mean you are not powerful at all . The rom Warbird has twice the size of a GCS and is nearly as strong meaning that it is almost as strong as Starfleets strongest ship with twice the size... that's intimidating for everyone and as long as it avoids b...

Re: Saber class
It's true that the ships are not that powerful in comparison with an Akira or a Defiant but I believe (especially for the Saber and the Steam) that are a lot stronger than a ship of the same class or size.

Re: Romulan Fleet
The Rommies have their reasons for big ships. They want their ships to "frighten" the enemy to intimidate him and to avoid battle since their ship looks sooo big and powerful. The D'deridex looks a lot bigger than it really is... there must be a reason for that. The rom strategy is based o...

Re: Saber class
The New Orleans class looks like the frigate or light cruiser of the early TNG era (or maybe even a little older). About the saber, the steam and the norway I like them a lot. I am sure that the steam and the saber are battle oriented ships and probably one of these classes (or maybe both ) are repl...
Re: Aftermath
*sigh* Screw it, I'm dropping out of this debate. It's like arguing with a brick wall. It's very hard to convince someone for something when discussing Star Trek since certain aspects of the show are quite vague (to say the least). I mean who could claim that starfleet has tens of thousands of ship...

Re: Starfleet size
I think I should have asked:
Who would you expect to order a ramming more easily and without remorce the average fed captain or the average klingon captain?

Re: Starfleet size
When Worf realised that Defiant's weapons where out of line and he had no other way to attack the cube he said: "Perhaps today IS a good day to die... RAMMING SPEED!" He used a Klingon motto before ordering the ramming and let's be reasonable who would you expect on ordering ramming speed ...

Re: Starfleet size
Their strategy could be call reinforsements attack all at once and what the hell if that doesn't work we can ram the cube and ensure a place at Sto'Vo'Kor

Re: Starfleet size
Klingons may have suicidal tendencies now and then but it's too much even for a Klingon to attack a borg cube by himself on his tiny BoP.

Re: Starfleet size
The fleet in FC was fighting the borg for some time meaning that this concentration was needed to destroy the cube that had achieved some level of adaptation to fed weaponry. May the Klingons needn't do the same since as far as we know that would be the first contact between borg and the Klingons.

Re: Starfleet size
Thank you all for the warm wellcome. I don't think that aiming the exact same point of the cube would be as essential as all ships firing at the same time all of their weapons. The ent-d almost cripled the cube with 3 (yes only 3 phaser bursts!). Imagine the effect of 20 BoP and Vor'chas firi...

Re: Starfleet size
I believe that the Klingons could have destroyed the cube if they had enough ships (not many - 20 propably could do the job). Just remember that when the ent-D first encountered the borg it managed to damage 20% of the borg cube with 3 phaser bursts. The cube at wolf 359 had adapted to fed technolog...
