Re: Crusader Kings II
Abstract. This isn't a tactical game like Total War, at all. You simply send your Stack o' Doom against provinces and other armies. The quality of your troops will impact the battle outcome, and the military stats of your leaders. But that's about it. It's a Grand Strategy Game by Paradox. The fun i...

Re: Admiral Kaine
I think we are a bit past believable sci-fi anyway. Can't we just file this into te cylon's magical hacking abilities and call it a day? The point was about why the original Galactica didn't had simulators, and the two points i suggested was lack of resource at time of design compared to more critic...

Re: Crusader Kings II
I be happy to provide one, but where? The game's main website, the main forum or a juicy Lets Play?
It's not a browser-based game.

Crusader Kings II
Someone ever picked up that game? I have to warn you, it's a Paradox game, so it's difficulty curve is rather steep at first, until you understand what is important to keep track of, and how to quickly consult the rest when relevant. The gameplay revolves around dynasties of european's middleage. Yo...

Re: Admiral Kaine
Well we do know the Colonials use wireless communication. Personally, I always assumed that was how the Cylons hacked into the systems. Then why don't they simply airgap the comms from the computers? Don't be silly. There ain't no airgap in the comms from computers. Everybody knows the waves travel...

Re: Admiral Kaine
That would make sense. But I guess I understand why Cylon War-era military wouldn't want to have a networked training simulator.

Waterworlds confirmed!
Today is a great day for science!! Water Planets have been discovered and confirmed to exist! It's obviously more likely that life might develop in a waterly world than most other worlds we have discovered so far. Even if only under the form of bacterias or other very simple life forms. It still som...

Re: Admiral Kaine
Yeah there was a Viper factory or something like that. On a ship that size it's doable. Viper training simulator just makes sense to have on all ships. Why? I mean, it makes sense in retrospective if you are cut off from any military base or home port, on the run in the emptiness of space. But the ...

Re: Admiral Kaine
Not to forget, if you trust Galactica's bible, the Pegasus had Viper training simulator and a Viper factory.
The Pegaus was simply to big of an asset to turn down. Why is why I wanted to slap Lee for sacrificing it over the Galactica.

Re: Admiral Kaine
Thing is, While Cain might have been a fine military leader (in a traditional society), she completely lost view of the entire picture. Even if she had had her way with the Errant Fleet, dismantled it for spare parts, drafted civilians that could be used and got the Galactica on her side. Even if wi...

Re: Admiral Kaine
Remember Adama's initial stance regarding Rodlin supposed authority. Ultimately, it was only worth whatever respect the current military leader had in the constitution, and willingness to surrender authority power to the Secretary of Education. Adama eventually yielded to Roslin's authority because ...

And I am sure he used a fancy sonic screwdriver to do just that.mwhittington wrote:I thought Geordi fixed Data by removing his affected memory engrams, but I may be wrong.
Unless you think you can modify positronic memory engrams with a wheelbarrow.

Re: Nostalgia Critic : Star Trek Insurrection
Nothing else? Eh. Then it's one big crappy generic statement aimed at sounding stupidly idealistic. Kinda like some of Star Trek's gospel when you think about it.

Re: Nostalgia Critic : Star Trek Insurrection
If you are going to talk specifically about the fact of that bit of colloquial speech referring to something which is plainly deemed to be understood to be excluded from such a reference It's a pretty absolute statement. I interpret it as simple hypocrisy: they'll use technology whenever they consi...
