You'd think they would have all that stuff ready before each encounter since they are a collective and all.

I liked all the characters besides Reed and Mayweather. Reed was just frustratingly negative most of the series adn Mayweather... who the hell is this guy? We know like almost nothing about him. He's just there. And he looks funny. The MACOs rocked. I think Star Fleet should always have actual soldi...

I think that would be in their file when they first stepped onboard ;)

Would be weird to see an Ubese, I mean a Breen in a Starfleet uniform.

Interesting analogy. I think its safe to say that originally the Romulans were modeled after the Romans and the Klingons modeled after the USSR (because of political issues of the day). So perhaps the Romulans have auxillaries that are the other species in their Empire that we just don't see too oft...

That would make sense. The Borg's shielding have some kind of damage threshold they can't adapt to. Which is why the shockwave from the planet exploding destroyed the cubes and why a lot of Federation vessels can destroy a cube working together.

Borg Weapon Adapting

Okay so drones can get killed by physical attacks so there is a limit to their adapting its not a blank check. Wouldn't it make sense to arm Federation ships with guns? What about rail guns for ships would a ship that used projectiles in theory be able to take down a borg cube? Just wondered what we...

But with the estimated population of the Federation they should be able to find close to a billion who want to wear the uniform and be away from family easily.

I wish there were cross-universe comparison charts like those here at DITL where I could compare two or three specific ships. I agree. I was typing up some ships from other genres into the ship strength calculator and got some funny results. Be interesting to see some ships from those other univers...

I would say that they haven't expanded towards the federation because of the neutral zone but that's not to say that they didn't expand the opposite way.

And remember space is 3d so they could very well be overlapping the Federation when viewed from above on a galactic map.

Star Trek vs Star Wars

Okay we all knew this topic was coming one day. Which do you think would win and why? Star Wars- Height of the Empire (Right after a New Hope. So no Death Star but able to build more) Star Trek- Right before the Dominion War. No supreme beings on the Trek side allowed (Since they would win easily an...

yay history majors!

Then you guys forget that world that Kirk explored which had nearly only standing room... if that world joined the federation the numbers could be pretty high.
