Re: DSC - 2x02 - New Eden

I enjoyed the episode, I just am a bit tired of the tired trope of a long-lost human colony. This isn't Stargate, in Star Trek humanity was one of many thousands of other worlds. When are we going to find a long-lost colony of Andorians or something? I was also a bit disappointed they didn't point o...

Re: Graham

I had missed this. Ian you have my deepest condolences. Graham was a good guy and had a great imagination. For the few years I was very active on this forum I thought (most of us) were becoming close friends. I still remember in 2002 sending an email to Graham about Star Trek v Star Wars and having ...

Re: Picard: the series as a whole

Another curious thing is that we've literally seen Picard personally let entire civilisations die rather than act to save them, because he considers that a moral part of non-interference. So what changed? That's always bothered me greatly and the one reason I'd much rather there be a Union of Plane...

Re: Picard: the series as a whole

The Romulan status didn't make a whole lot of sense, I agree. I think they said a star near the Romulan world went super nova, so maybe more stars were affected? I agree though, they need to explain that, have it descend into a decade of civil war or something. They can still call 200+ ships, though...

Re: Homeworld

Played it, had fun with the episode with the FTL inhibitor, and the sphere of Ion Frigates around it. Wound up sending probes near the sphere to lure out a few of the enemy Ion Frigates at a time. Frigates would fixate on the probe, and pass right by my Salvage Corvettes. Took a while, but was able...

Re: Xelaya : The Impossible Planet

I like the idea of a white star on the inside of an artificial planet. That youtub channel I sent ya, Isaac Arthur, would be all over that. I'd like to see this planet again and exploring an ancient Dyson Sphere would be a good way to go about it.

Re: Home (Spoilers)

I thought it was their second or third best episode. Picardo's acting blew away my expectations. We saw him do some great scenes in Voyager, but I think this was better than any of those. The twist in the episode was done perfectly.

Re: Arizona Senator John McCain has passed away at the age o

Not sure how I feel about this. He was a statesman and a hero... but he also never saw a war he didn't like and had a hand in killing hundreds of thousands of civilians.

The Omega Glory

Alright, so I just finished the second season. Between the Nazis, the stone-aged Americans and the Romans there's some messed up episodes! I think the Nazis can actually make sense but I wanted to start threads on each of these three (and any more in the third season). There was a good youtube chann...

Re: Pitch a Trek miniseries

Okay, my idea : the voyage of the Valiant. Time period would be 2063. The Valiant was Earth's first exploratory warp ship, designed for long duration exploration missions. Would have to be limited to Warp 1 (cure you, Enterprise!) or so. The ship sets off and is swept up in some kind of anomaly tha...

Re: Who Mourns for Adonais

I like the idea of relating it to Q. It could be that these powerful aliens were ascending and Apollo was the last one to make the leap. He was still hanging onto the old days of mortals worshiping him, whereas all is friends and family traveled ahead of him into a higher state of being. I was think...

Who Mourns for Adonais

Just watched this on Netflix. Great episode, reminded me a lot of Star Gate. I got the impression though, especially there at the end, that the Gods didn't die, they just moved on to another dimension or realm. I mean, it makes no sense for worship to feed an alien and at the end of the episode, Apo...
