The Salvation War

Anyone ever heard of the Salvation war? It is a work of fiction by Stuart Slade which explores what would have happened if it would have come to pass that somehow Judgement Day would be declared, and how humanity would react. Initially a significant percentage of humanity just lies down and dies, as...

Interesting little review site I found the other day

www.overthehorse.com You remember reading those books everyone thought it was the next best thing since the Bible, or that it was even better? Upon reading such books were a bit of a letdown. These folks take books and other works like that when they're overrated and review them at their own level. ...

Youtube freezing

So, whenever playing youtube at any quality setting it freezes completely. My pc becomes totally unresponsive to any input, be it keyboard or mouse for about a minute. In the meantime, the video stops, but the sound continues in a very slow tempo, giving you in any case a very nice, if somewhat cree...

Being the flagship means being a representative on behalf of the entirety of the Federation. The epitome of what Starfleet could produce while still reflecting the core ideals of peaceful exploration and what else the Federation stands for. A prometheus is a weapon of war. Sure, the Galxy was one as...

Re: Tholian Influence

Why bother with it? The asteroid would have to be located, analysed for suitability, dragged from its current path to the desired orbit/route/whatever, hollowed out, outfitted with all sorts of tech to keep it in the proper orbit, then made airtight, only then can one actually even consider putting ...

Re: British scientist aims to invent synthehol

that's one of the nice things of science fiction. It gives you the oppurtunity to think of new ideas, not per se constrained by science. The new idea just works, so you can demonstrate the effects. Then scientists can worry about how to replicate it and they have a goal to work towards.

Re: "You must do the Borg..."

Dark Star Trek... we had DS9 for that. I think VOY should have been more of "Yeah we're in a shitty situation, and sometimes we have to do bad things, but we are human, and we are Star Fleet" I think there should only be a few dark episodes, to show how bad it can be and so we can appreci...

Re: "You must do the Borg..."

At least one characters/crewmembers should be assimilated, but in a slow drawn out process due to reason X, to get more insight into the Borg story-wise. Rather than getting in 7 of 9, keep Kes around. Perhaps by having Neelix slowly being assimilated, but having no link to the Collective. Voyager w...
