Watching episode 4 made me tear up. Not because it was sad, but it was what we have missed for so many years. It was a Trek episode at heart.

Honestly, the first moment making it hard for me to keep watching was the intro theme. It starts decently, builds, then goes nowhere. It doesn't feel like a theme. Even weaker than the country music from ENT.

It just saddens me that they have this decent looking ship we know isn't gonna make it and we will have the monstrosity coming up.

I am totally willing to give it a chance and be surprised.

The more I see it the more I wish this took place around the C era and was about the Shenzou. It would fit fine and the ship at least looks decent.

Hmmm. I'll watch the first episode as if it wasn't Star Trek. I'll bring along my never-seen-Trek friend as well. See if it holds up on its own.

Its kind of scary but reading twitter comments from many of the folks who worked on previous series, I never realized how much they enjoyed their work.
