Gonna have to agree with Mikey here. Also, the insurance companies obviously think so too which is why they charge them higher premiums.

Howabout the Motherships from V (the 1983 series). http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7359/9257913178_bf3036b209_b.jpg The special effects haven't held up all that well but its still dam scary, and the opening scene when you first catch sight of a Mothership slowly floating through the sky is still chill...

Re: ABB Wins Contract for Dutch EV Charging Stations
In the UK the roads are getting more and more congested every year. With the rate our population is rising, the roads simply can't handle all the extra vehicles. I know all journeys can't be replaced by public transport currently, but certainly many of the trips people make in cars are done so for c...

The scene where Galactica jumps into the atmosphere of New Caprica and launches its fighters whilst dropping from the sky was one of the coolest things ever.Teaos wrote:Galactica, from the new BSG.

The Liberator gets my vote - if you thought the Enterprise D looked cushy, that thing had a couch on the Command Deck, inbetween the control stations and the view screen.

Re: ABB Wins Contract for Dutch EV Charging Stations
The best idea I heard regarding electric cars was to make the batteries standard, and have stations where you could drop off your depleted battery and swap it out for a charged one. Not sure how practical it would be in real life but it would solve the problem of charging time. Frankly, I'd like to ...

Re: Pushing the button
A cruise would drive me nuts, but I'd definitely book passage on a cargo ship and bugger off round the world. After that, either a log cabin in Alaska or a tin airfield somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

Re: Traffic Control and Cloaking
Cloaked ships must have some way of detecting each other for fleet actions surely?

From what I can figure from my very very limited knowledge of Submarines. 1) They don't stick stuff in them unless its needed 2) They're designed from the ground up to be damn near buoyant, requiring a minimum of ballast to make em rise of sink The only way I can see how they can fix this is to stic...

Re: Rewatching the series
Susans scene with Franklin in the medical bay at the end of Season 4 was one of my fave scenes though.
Yeah, when I said I rewatched it last year, I haven't watched five yet. It has its great moments, but it feels too disjointed from the rest of the show.

Always thought Li Nalas would have made a good occasional character. A peaceful man forced to take on the role of a hero.

Re: Rewatching the series
Rewatched it myself last year. Takes at least one rewatch to appreciate how well the whole show was planned out.
G'Kar was indeed badass, and had the best character development in the show IMO
