Re: Cardassian Ship Technology
It seems that they had no problem with small to middling things; the real deficiency was their lack of anything larger than a medium cruiser. The problem with the ODP's was one of a design flaw (read: the heroes needed an option,) not of the technology itself. When your power source is located in a...

Re: Morning rant on ST 11
Meh, I'm not that bothered about Riker's new job, personaly. Any film on the Titan would have him as the only character from any other series. This means creating and introducing a whole group of new characters which no one really gives a damn about. True. Although they could find an excuse to work...

Re: Pictures from the new TOS movie
I'm forced to agree with you, KM. What 'Trek needs is to find a new, fresh jumping-off point. That said, I am of course still going to see the movie. Will I see it, yes, I'm a Trekkie and proud of it, will I pay to see it, Hell No, I'm a Trekkie and I'm proud of it... Thats the problem for me, I've...

Re: Pictures from the new TOS movie
I honestly;y support the idea of putting Trek on the back burner for a while. The in a few years, bring in a new crew, if possible lead by someone like Manny Coto (who should have been given this movie, anyone know why he wasn't?) set in the post DW era, early 25th Century. I think that would do mor...

Re: Pictures from the new TOS movie
...should never have gotten past the drawing board IF it were made to appeal to Trekkies. The mainstream, who might go see it simply as a cool sci-fi film, don't care. The thing is, I don't know if those non-Trek audience members would see it anyway. This is what I've been saying from the begining ...

Re: Nova-class: Explorer to Destroyer?
Yeah but the Prometheus likely wasn't set up for a 2 year deep space mission, Kim was an Ops Officer, I suspect it was the routine charting/discovery mission, if so the Prommie isn't you ship, you want a Neb or a Galaxy type deal.

Re: ?????
I'm sure it exists but it would be massively complex and probably near impossible to read, keep in mind that you would have 3 Dimensions to show. I would also love to see this though.

They did a poor job of it though, that's way too much advancement IMO.

Re: Nova-class: Explorer to Destroyer?
I agree the Defiant is likely more combat oriented, they should have given him a Nebula, it can handle that 2 year Deep Space mission he was on and it is ALOT easier to accept it taking on the Negh'Vars that that little Science Ship.

Re: Troop ship
Teaos, are troops something you'd like to use more in the next installment of the Daystrom RP? That could be kind of cool you know. These are Fed troops you realize, they will be team killed within 5 minutes 10 if they have a hero, but he will survive through hard work and perseverance, plus he is ...

Re: Cardassian Ship Technology
That's the problem with the Cardassians, they have these fantastivc ideas such as Dreadnought and the ODPs but in practice they over complicated or resource intensive.

Re: Stagnation of Technology
I agree with you and have many times before, what I was actually reffering too was this part; try and keep down the number of races-of the week the Feds have had wars with in the recent past. The Writers try and portray the Feds as the good guys who always go for peace yet they love to throw in new ...

She was decommissioned for the last time in '92 and Struck from the Registry in '95. As of now there are no Active Serving Battleships left.

Re: Stagnation of Technology
Seafort makes a good point, for a peaceful society that hates conflict and doesn't teach Tactics, they sure do seem to get into a lot of Wars. Even if they win these relatively easily you would think they would start to wonder what they are doing wrong.
