Something else with people chafing under federation rule (possibly because they want power for themselves or because Marxism ruined their world etc) is that the federation is growing more disjointed. For example many star charts show federation territory on the other side of romulan and klingon spac...

Actually they have a lot of room to run if they operate in the future. For one thing they could do an interesting twist where the Federation, pressed by increased Borg attacks and who knows what goes militaristic and then starts spiraling into a 1984 sort of culture, or at least one where we aren't ...

Do you think a WWII battleship could take a modern day US destroyer? That's a bit extreme but it's the same idea. The defiant is newer than the old galaxy and has new high speed torpedo launchers, quantum torpedos, the almighty ablative armor, and their crazy capitol ship ripping pulse cannons. I'm ...

No I don't think the Defiant would even make it into top 5. Its to small and wouldn't stand a chance against a bigger ship. Posted at the same time. It's been a while, but I seem to recall seeing a defiant doing absolutely ridiculous things to a large number of much bigger and modern Klingon ships....

On other sites I might have to argue more. But presumably here people have some respect for the stats and sizes on the main page. Otherwise you'd be arguing them. Which should indicate some shifting around of the above (and that the akira is a good bit bigger than the defiant though probably not as ...

Still there is always the risk of something going wrong that you didn't anticipate before you beamed down. We have yet to have someone cloned or whatever by a shuttle. Also shuttlecraft have wider range, as later ones were warp capable, and give you some autonomy. I forget where but I think I heard ...

Actually I think I did a lot of the a bomb stuff on my own reading. The basic principles aren't complicated it's having the sheer number of facilities and working out the details just right. Anyway the point is that people knew how to make crystal radios and it was no big deal. Move you back two cen...

Personally, while as a gimick once and a while time travel can be fun, I generally really dislike it. Totally killed Enterprise for me. Which is too bad because I'd liked it. As for what they teach in high school I can actually see that. I mean I knew the basics of making an atomic weapon back in hi...

PBF Trek RPG
I'm interested in participating in a PBF Trek RPG that is less sim and more tabletopish. Since a homebrew that does that may well use daystrom stats I figured I'd have better luck asking about that here than in the simm boards I'd started asking around in. So if you know of anything like that please...
