Re: Dundee The Son of A Legend Returns Home (Danny McBride)

Why, oh God, WHY would they make a reboot of an iconic franchise and use Danny McBride, the same idiot in Your Highness, as Dundee's son? Why couldn't they perhaps remake the first Crocodile Dundee movie with Chris Hemsworth playing the role? And Julianne Hough as the reporter/love interest? That I ...

Re: The Last Jedi - spoileriffic thread

Zahn's written a new canon Thrawn novel, which has a sequel on the way in June. Ultimately though, does it matter? Outbound flight still exists, can still be read, it just doesn't tie-in with the newer stuff. But then, there's a whole host of books that it does tie-in with that you can still read. ...

Re: The Last Jedi - spoileriffic thread

Is the book Outbound Flight considered canon? I'm assuming it is because Thrawn is now canon, and this book "introduces" Thrawn. Outbound Flight is no longer canon - Thrawn himself is canon because he's turned up in his own novel, and in Rebels, but the pre-Disney EU of him and his histor...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

I miss the snow! I live in Northern California, where we used to get occasional snow every winter, then it just pretty much stopped around 3 or 4 years ago. Now our highs are in the high 50's to low 60's F, and if we want to play in the snow, we go to Mt. Lassen with some friends. My middle daughter...

Re: The Last Jedi - spoileriffic thread

Because how do you police a universe in which one can stoll down to the local dealership and buy an item that can blow up a very large chunk of a planet if misused? All those swarms of traffic we see near advanced planets... does nobody ever just decide to ram their ship into the planet for fun? No...

Since the saucer section rotates, they should make a Discovery pizza cutter. I'm sure someone is marketing this crap somewhere.

Re: The (second) trial of Captain Picard

I'm sure the only reason Janeway is an admiral is because Picard probably took Kirk's advice and declined an admiralty because he likes to be in the captain's chair "making a difference".

Re: The Last Jedi - spoileriffic thread

Did anyone else notice that Yoda was a puppet again and not CGI? I actually appreciated that. I went to go see this with my daughter Ashley yesterday in 3D and when Luke "became one with the Force" near the end, she almost cried  Heck, I almost cried. And yeah, Luke brushing off his s...
