TAS review nits

From "The Terratin Incident:" "The basic plot doesn't make a lot of sense though - why don't the Terratins just explain their situation and ask for help in the first place, and why is Kirk reluctant to help them later on? Because it serves the script, that's why not." They did - ...

From "When it Rains..."

From "When it Rains..." "Okay, so Kira is going to Cardassia to help the Cardassians form a rebel movement. She will stick out like a sore thumb with her Bajoran nose, and many Cardassians will hate her and not want to listen to her because she is Bajoran. Why didn't Bashir just make ...

Re: DS9 Problems

From "Honor Among Thieves:" "Bilby says his Starfleet contact was in charge of Risa's weather control system last year. Why is Starfleet in charge of a planet's weather control system? Shouldn't that be a civilian thing?" This is of course pure speculation, but maybe after the in...

DS9 Problems

Single thread as suggested by Teaos :D >> Pasted from my thread on Rapture: In the review: "Sisko claims that the stone pillar is eleven metres high - that's about thirty six feet. He then asks for a 75% reconstruction. Yet what he gets is not even close to being twenty seven feet." He act...

DS9 "Rapture" - Yes, I'm rewatching DS9...

...that's what with all the nits... ;P In the review: "Sisko claims that the stone pillar is eleven metres high - that's about thirty six feet. He then asks for a 75% reconstruction. Yet what he gets is not even close to being twenty seven feet." He actually asks for a reconstruction "...

Re: Nitpick with review of DS9:"Heart of Stone"

We actually see it. (Psst...quotation marks aren't for emphasis! I am anal about that.)

Apocalypse Rising nit

" In Homefront/Paradise Lost, Odo could instnatly tell that Admiral Leyton was a changeling. Here he takes a whole episode to work out that Martok is also a changeling." Yes...but in Paradise Lost, Odo was a changeling; in Apocalypse rising, he was a solid ;) (Also, "instantly" h...

Nitpick with review of DS9:"Heart of Stone"

In the YATI it says Founders shot with phasers die or revert to their liquid form, so how can the Founder (who is pretending to be Kira being engulfed by a crystal) shoot the crystal (which is really a part of herself)? Well, it seems to me the phaser and phaser beam are just a part of the founder t...

Fesarius entry nit

Under the image of the Enterprise floating in front of the Fesarius, the caption reads that the Enterprise encountered the vessel in "2366" which is 100 years too late ;)

Well did Enterprise used structual integraty fields. If not hull polarization can be a variant of that. Well, let's see, I forget the ep name but I think it's Silent Enemy - they need to overload the phase cannons to fire on the aliens, and decide to technobabble the gravity plating so they can shu...

Here are 5 caps I made. It's worth noting that in the first two, the hull plating was actually *down* when the ship was fired upon - Archer orders hull plating polarized after they're hit, and Reed responds that it's down. So maybe all of the blue glows we see from weapons fire, whether hull plating...

Whoa, wonder why I only got an email for the last post and wasn't notified about the rest of them? Oh well. Anyway, the energy theory is sort of like my theory of aligning molecules, at least in the final *result* that you have to continually expend energy in order to diffuse the weapons fire. Yes, ...

YATI in ENT:"Shuttlepod One"

More of a direction error than a continuity error...but in the scene where Reed and Tucker are drinking bourbon, Tucker drains his glass, then lights a candle, then lifts his glass from the bench behind him; it's got a little bit left in it. Then it's out of sight again as Reed talks; when the camer...

There wouldn't be any more space between them. Aligning them would cause them to come closer together. If they're all arranged lengthwise, they can fall closer together. If they aren't repelling each other because of being magnetically polar, like water molecules, there'd be no reason for them to ge...

Only if the material is polar - the reason ice is less dense is because the water molecules repel each other. I think of "polarization" in this case as *aligning* them, not causing them to have magnetic poles.
