Re: Seen it! SPOILERS IN HERE!!!!

Oh I don't know - in STII, the film's MacGuffin was able to turn a nebula into a terrestrial planet. Or the idea of Praxis sending out a faster than light shockwave that could damage a ship as far away as the neutral zone in STVI? Yeah, because Trek's never mutilated science before now, right? It d...

Re: Seen it! SPOILERS IN HERE!!!!

I think watching the Vulcan implosion from one of its moons would make much more sense than from a neighboring planet. (Of course, Vulcan has no moons, right?) What if Delta Vega was a moon of Vulcan? That's the only way you could see Vulcan from that close. I dunno, the movie's explanation doesn't ...

Re: How Much?

It wasn't an 80-foot screen. It was a large-capacity theater with a crazy sound system. The film looked great, don't get me wrong. But theaterwise it wasn't $5 better than other stuff I've seen (I payed $15 for this show vs. $10. for a normal ticket). And the screen wasn't big enough to create that ...

Re: Seen it! SPOILERS IN HERE!!!!

A few questions. Did anyone catch what the WARNING message said on the glass in the transporter room? It's the white text in front of where Scotty and Chekov sit. Also, it seemed like the entire secondary hull was the shuttlebay, and that there were dozens of shuttles. I thought this was pretty inte...

Re: How Much?

I had heard that a sequel was green-lit a few months ago. At my screening, two foxy girls were dressed up - one as Uhura, and one as an Orion Slave Girl. There were probably 3-400 people; it was an "IMAX" showing, which in this case must have just meant that they turned up the sound system...

Here's a better collection of maps from that book.

I don't understand why the Fed even has space on the other side of the Klingon Empire. There has to be a reason it was done, but it doesn't make sense to me.

I'm 4 weeks away from the last semester of my graduate degree! My master's recital is in 12 days! I have 4 more essays to write! I need a job! Everything in my life feels like it needs an exclamation point right now!

Re: The Joke Thread

Kinda strange to be harassed for a bad joke. It's not like an argument where I can refute an opposing point of view.
