Re: Let's fix Voyager

Would an Ambassador class even be able to transverse the galaxy to make it back home?

Re: DS9 era series thought...

Yeah, I knew the idea wasn't really a viable scenario for a full blown series, but I thought it would make for an interesting show. Everytime we see Trek its always the best and brightest in a fancy new ship with all the latest tech.

Re: TNG: Unification

What I'd like to think is that the 2000 troops were to secure the central station controlling the anti-transporter jammers around Vulcan. This allows other cloaked vessels to land a main assault force to capture Vulcan (like the cloaked D'Deridex). Unfortunately against a prepared Vulcan that plan ...

Re: Let's fix Voyager

Put Sisko in the DQ and there wouldn't be a need for technobabble to defeat the Borg, he would just beat them all to death with their severed arms.

Re: TNG: Unification

As far as I'm aware we've never really gotten a good clue about troop sizes in Trek. Compared to the dozen or so troops in AR-558 holding the communications thingy, 2000 troops is huge. Its hard to say what they could have done. We do have an understanding that 500,000 Cardassians wasn't enough to ...

Re: DS9 era series thought...

EXCELSIOR! (took care of it for ya, Deep.) Anyway, the premise fits with the DS9-era style, but sounds a bit like a one-trick pony to me. Yeah, I just always thought it would be interesting to see a crew where not everyone is a genius. It wouldn't have to be a super old, underpowered ship, but seei...

DS9 era series thought...

This kinda just came to me, do any of you think it would have been interesting to see a series based around some old ship during the Dominion War? We always see the best and the brightest of Starfleet, I just thought it would have been interesting to see some rag-tag group of a Miranda class or some...

Re: On Hyperpowers

As you mention, the U.S. does not have a true democracy - we have a republic; further, we have one which already accounts for an unbalanced representation based on population, along with a counter to that with a chamber that is unbalanced toward representation regardless of population. As far as yo...
