Re: Primitive Societies And Advanced Technology
Humans do look rather different then the Navi though. At least the Native Americans and the Europeans were the same species. How would a species react to another sapient species that is different in so many ways?

I thought everyone knew that competence is discouraged in Starfleet.Tyyr wrote:It's really amazing that Reed was just the weapons officer. Someone that competent should have been in command, instead he spent most of his time trying to keep the crew's idiotic decisions from killing them all.

Re: Microsoft Office
Yeah, I personally enjoy the ribbon, it makes it so you can see the options, and yeah, for older users it may be difficult to get used to, but it's really a lot easier to have a lot more things available to change rather than having to have "toolbars" on the top that are annoying, with th...

Re: Microsoft Office
I don't get the point of Office 07. If you are new to office it doesn't matter much which version you have since you have learn to use the programm anyhow. If you knew 03 all they did was pushing the buttons around so that even if you are very familiar with it you spend the next couple of hours sea...

These are the voyages...
So I was watching this episode earlier and it was well...terrible. But on the bright side, with it in mind, couldn't we say ENT was nothing more than Wesley messing with historical simulations to fit his own little imaginary world?

Re: DS9 era series thought...
You mean like the Enil in Wrath of Khan, Search for Spock and the E-A in the movies thereafter? The type of ship doesn't really matter imho. The more I think of it, DS9 itself was the series you are proposing. Sure they had the Sisko but truly, every one of the characters was - no matter how likabl...

Mikey, I think we'd all appreciate you keeping your personal fetishes off the forum. Oh, if only they were that mundane. *ahem* Anyway, I didn't write the damn show. The only plus side to that ep is: if we had to have an ep with Janeway having sex, at least it wasn't in her human form. Oh thank you...

You mentioned Enterprise...Lighthawk wrote:Yeah, and then we have Enterprise giving us two species growing up on the same planet that can't mate, but races from entirely different ones can. What is and is not compatible in the trek universe doesn't often follow common sense or scientific reasoning.

Re: Let's fix Voyager
"Less unique" is nonsensical - "unique" means "one of a kind." It's a discrete state, not an analog one. That's like saying a woman is "a little pregnant," or a corpse is "only slightly dead." Thank you grammar nazi, I feel enlightened by your nitpi...
