Re: What are ships which are worse than the Galaxy-class?
Prometheus - There is no ship in the Trek universe I loathe more. MVAM just seems like one of those things some fanboy on acid thought up. That is a fan wank. Intrepid - The nacelles. They're just too small and the variable position thing just seems like an unnecessary complication. I've never had a...

Re: Harrada - Samaritan Snare
Yeah, I'm very bad with the novels, I've barely read maybe twenty Trek books across all the different series.

Re: I Hate Enterprise
Well put. Even in better hands, though, I still believe the very idea of a prequel is one which could still have easily fallen to some of those same flaws you mention. Oh, that's almost inevitable. Doing a prequel like that virtually guarantees that at some point you're going to screw up something....

Re: Harrada - Samaritan Snare
Well I got the spelling wrong, Jarada. The J is pronounced as an H. The Jarada are the species Picard was practicing his greeting for in "The Big Goodbye." Interesting. It just piqued my interest because Riker seemed to take them seriously but we'd never heard of them before. I'm always on...

Harrada - Samaritan Snare
I was watching Samaritan Snare on Sci-Fi (ScyFy now? Yay syphilis network) and there was an exchange I hadn't noticed before. Troi warns Riker to be careful, the Pakleds were not what they seemed. Riker replies, "Why? They're not the Klingons or Harrada ." I could be mistaken and he mentio...

Re: I Hate Enterprise
I honestly think it could have done great. There is a lot of early Trek history we know next to nothing about. To top it off the show could have used the low tech, for Trek, setting to do something very different with the show in that they couldn't just warp to a new planet every week. Instead it fo...

Re: I Hate Enterprise
I know it is to me. When I write something I'd rather hear that someone hates it than that they just don't care about it. I'll take a negative emotional response over none.Mikey wrote:Sad but true. Apathy is a worse comment on the show than hate.

Re: I Hate Enterprise
Because I can't quite get through the disappointment to flat out hate. There are still the occasional episodes that I enjoy. Maybe part of me wants to like it so bad that I can't make it past apathy to hate.

Re: I Hate Enterprise
I don't hate Enterprise. To me the series is a lot like Voyager. It had potential, lots of it, and it manages to squander every little bit of it. In both series the few shining moments of real honest to goodness trek only made it worse as they'd give you glimpses. A retro series with no retro. A Tre...

Re: First reviews are IN and it ROCKS!
All I can say is please let this true. I've given up on the time travel stuff and am just hoping for a Trek-like action flick. This gives me hope.
Hope is dangerous.

The Kazon were one small step above the Pakleds.

Re: What if Voyager had been a Sovereign-class?
More damage maybe, but more spare parts, replicators, and people to fix it. Given a Sovereign's size I think it'd be better off, the greater volume for storage means they'd be able to carry more spares.
Then again spare parts and repairs never seemed to be an issue on Voyager.

Re: What if Voyager had been a Sovereign-class?
Like I said in the other thread, while the ship might have an easier time of things, nothing in the Delta quadrant save the Borg would be a match for a Sovereign, the trip wouldn't be any quicker or longer. They'd still be relying on a lucky plot twist to get them home before they were all dead.

Re: What if Voyager had been a Nebula-class?
The speed of the two ships is largely irrelevant. They predicted it would take Voyager 70 years to get home. Like it or not it was going to be a generational ship. Sure, some of the crew would likely survive to get home but they'd be very old, even by Trek standards. A few of the more long lived rac...
