Re: What if Voyager had been a Sovereign-class?
The appropriate place to stick Janeway wasn't in a desk job, it was at the short end of court martial.

Re: Harrada - Samaritan Snare
I'd point out they're an insectoid race but I doubt that'd slow Kirk down at all.

And ya know what, he'd probably have gotten results anyways.

Re: What would YOU do to make Enterprise?
If I had Enterprise I'd actually make it a retro series. 1) Have the design of the NX-01 actually look to predate the NCC-1701. Something in the vein of the Kelvin. 2) No phasers, no hull shiel...hull plating, no photon torpedos. Lasers or rail guns, physical armor maybe ceramic, atmoic torpedos. 3)...

Re: I Hate Enterprise
It's up there with Threshold. Threshold is incredibly stupid, Dear Doctor tries to put a happy face on genocide. They're horrific in their own unique ways.

Re: I Hate Enterprise
Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel. I'm tempted to say that the theory of evolution was raped in that episode but I don't think it adequately covers the soul crushing violation that was inflicted on the concept. And how could Phlox possibly know that the Valaxians continued survival would prevent t...

Re: To be, or yacht to be
Well unless you can think up some reason why they simply can't carry more torps I think it either has to be chocked up to either: 1) They just didn't figure their ships would be involved in that much combat between stops at starbases or... 2) It's just another figure in Trek that doesn't make a whol...

Re: To be, or yacht to be
I think that's kind of the wrong end to approach it from. They carry sufficient torps for the tubes they have, just no where near the number of tubes they could. If they had more tubes they'd likely carry more torps.

Re: General reaction
So far most of my friends seem to agree they want to see it. They range from one or two OMG OPENING NIGHT's and a few mehs with most in between. Myself, I'm planning on seeing it if only for the starship porn value of it.

Re: To be, or yacht to be
There is a reason. They're not necessary, as the NEM Sov seems to have all fields of fire fairly well covered; and since we've never seen a starship carry nearly as many torps as sheer internal volume would allow, there is ostensibly some other reason for limiting the torp load-out. Therefore, havi...

Re: What are ships which are worse than the Galaxy-class?
The location where they connect to the hull is, it's a blocky protrusion off the back of the saucer. The upper and lower nacelle pairs are each connected to a single pylon however.
Re: Macrocosm
Oh lord, that one. I've been trying to forget that episode. Normally I can just let some of the stupid crap slide and just try and enjoy the show but the basketball sized "viruses" were just stupid. Braga's name on an episode is a kiss of death to me.

Re: What are ships which are worse than the Galaxy-class?
That little junction where all four pylons meet seems like a terrible liability. Starfleet ships are mostly full of such liabilities. The nacelle pylons, the Constitution class' interconnection between the saucer and engineering section, etc. The Constellation's isn't great but it's not a stand out...
