Re: Fed ground combat again
Makes me wonder if he's even watched the AR-558 episode of DS9. You can't see that and not decide that when it comes to ground combat at a bare minimum the Dominion and Federation are total idiots. Ever play Star Trek Elite Force I or II? Some of the weapons in there would be pretty damn useful. Pul...

Re: Strange Killer Swine Flu Outbreak in Mexico
I have to agree, its got a catchy name but its still the flu. With good medical care, heck even marginal medical care, the odds of dying to it are incredibly low.
As for their revenge. Tonight I fire back with a bacon wrapped pork tenderloin.

Re: Fed ground combat again
Even if space combat was the end all be all of warfare in the Trek universe how does that excuse the abysmal training, tactics, and equipment the ground troops get?

Bring along another mini-transporter, drop his phaser set to overload, and go. Instead he stands there staring at it them blows himself up. It was weak.

Re: Star Trek: Countdown - warning spoiler
Exactly, it completely cheapens his death and makes it meaningless. It was already cheap and meaningless. They killed him just to try and manufacture an emotional gut punch at the end of a completely crap movie. He died pointlessly. Like taking a bullet for a guy in an armored car kinda pointless. ...

Re: And You Thought Waterboarding Was Bad?
Flaming testicles, rectal cattle prods, rusty nail in a board beatings, that sort of thing. Actual torture.

Re: What would YOU do to make Enterprise?
I dunno, warp 5 isn't bat out of hell fast but it's still quick enough to get you between star systems in two weeks or so, maybe two to four for inhabited systems. Constantly putting the crew down and waking them back up would seem counterproductive. Especially if they pass interesting stellar pheno...

Last time I got jury duty I went. I went in the first group, answered the lawyer's questions honestly, and got the rest of the day off with full pay from my work.

What screen saver is that?
Oh, it probably didn't help that Nemesis would have been an awful as just a TV episode. As a movie it sucked harder than Cygnus X-1

Firefox on my home PC is borked up. Not sure what it is but about once every half hour it just up and dies on me. Tonight I'll be installing Opera.
Re: Scorpion
The appearance of Voyager in the space would displace some of the fluid. However its unlikely to make any real difference in local pressure. If fluidic space is infinite then the pressure wave would continue to expand indefinitely. Overall pressure would never increase, just a momentary shudder as t...

That comes after the court martial, there are procedures to follow.
Re: Scorpion
From the looks of things fluidic space was just space full of fluid. It wasn't as if they were in some immense ocean. Consequently there wouldn't be any real pressure issues in fluidic space. We have to deal with pressure underwater because the water is in a gravitational field. The farther under th...
