Re: Cardassian Ship Technology
If they had the means, coudl they develope a ship as powerful as the Galaxy-class, Vorcha-class, D'drieniex-class? If so, what would it look like and how many could be produced? This is funny, I just watched 'the wounded' and I literally guffawed when Picard was talking to Gul Macet (I think) of th...

Re: Dogfight 1: 'Valiant' Dominion Battleship vs Sovereign
Both ships with regular non-hero crews, no external support, no deus ex machina, no plot devices etc I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I give this one solidly to sovvie. She held her own against the scimitar, and I am sure that the scimitar would utterly decimate the Dominion Battles...

Really? That's crazy, I never heard this, do you have a source?
Edit: I'm not finding anything concrete, lots of fan specualtion though.
Thanks for checking, that's what I thought. However, it does seem like a logical conclusion.

Re: I Hate Enterprise
You don't consider Trek to be relevant to pop culture? I think you need your head examined, no disrespect intended. I think it's effect has been blown wildly out of proportion with things like folding cell phones and automatic doors being credited to ST, even though they are obvious answers to a pr...

Daimon Bok and Picard and 'Survivors'
In the TNG ep. 'survivors' Kevin Uxbridge mentions that he destroyed the entire Husnock race with a thought, but he says nothing about the Husnock's technology, including those, according to Riker, 'Is it just me, or does it look a lot meaner this time' battleships. I think it could have been a real...

Re: I Hate Enterprise
It was a sitcom in space and not a cool one like Red Dwarf and it just snowballed from there into a complete embrassment for all concerned. It did nothing new or relevent, if you excised ENT entirely from canon you would lose very little of importance or worth. That was one of it's greatest flaws, ...

Re: Galaxy Class Capability
Does anyone else examine the visuals from the first battle of Chintoka and wonder about the weapons platform that cuts a swath into the hull of the USS Galaxy and think 'wtf?', I mean, come on, I realize that we are supposed to believe that these platforms are completely badass, but jesus, I mean, ...

Re: I Hate Enterprise
Stomping on canon, boring (or pointless; sometimes both) stories, disregard for basic math , several completely bland, forgettable characters, lack of direction... The tagline could've been: "Set Phasers to Snooze!" Or 'set phasers to kill (a multi-million dollar franchise).' :madashell:

Re: ENT killer, ''Balance of Terror'?
So, if TOS 'Balance of Terror' had never been made (not advocating this, terrific episode!), would the whole of ENT made a whole lot more sense? Honestly, I wonder how Trek was allowed to ever be placed in the hands of retards like berman and braga. I don't capitalize their names because they aren'...

Re: GCS Deflector Weapon - BOBW
Understood, yet you do not address the lack of surprise of the crew, which indicates this is indeed the desired result. Their briefing on the expected effects of the bombardment came from Colonel Lovok. A Founder. The manpower for the mission came entirely from members of intelligence agencies that...

Re: GCS Deflector Weapon - BOBW
it has been said in various iterations, on screen, which is considered canon, that the Defiant could 'reduce a planet to a cinder' and that the e-nil could destroy a planet on its own. Agreed. If you chuck dozens of 1 Mt torpedoes at a planet, supported by kt range phasers capable of removing far m...
