Re: [SFDebris] Darmok and Follow-Up
Honestly. I am SO frustrated! I wrote and extremely long review on this release, but it got deleted accidentally, so I will provide my abridged version. My equipment: Samsung 1080P 3-D Plasma 2011 model 5.1 Samsung Home Theater, 1000 watts And 2011 model Samsung BD Player I will say that I only had ...

Um...excuse me? Has common sense been thrown to the wayside completely in this forum, or do you live in a bubble?Captain Seafort wrote:In which case it just might have been a good idea to say so originally.

Re: How big SHOULD the Federation Fleet be?
So if you plan to multiply the power output of the main phasers by 9x as Aki talked about you're going to have to refit more then just warp core. True, but since we know of power upgrades yet never see phaser arrays switched, or Excelsiors replacing ball turrets with stripes etc. that leads me to b...

Re: Nero
I actually didn't mind Nero, and his lack of emotion. To me it fit the bill of someone who's been driven completely around the bend, and is now essentially devoid of his humanity ... er, Romulanity. It always seems to me that people who criticize Nero's motivations, or his plan, or even his acting ...

Re: Nero
I think they went to much with shouty shouty and not enough of actual genuine emotion. Whether that's the writing, or it's Eric Bana's performance, who knows? This is why my favourite trek villain is STILL Ricardo Montalban's Khan. Emotion and fire, excellently delivered lines... "You STILL re...

Mikey wrote:I agree. I don't really know if it was the writing of the character or Bana's performance, but he felt very 2-D. The greatest villains, especially ones with backstories like Nero's engender a modicum of sympathy - but Nero just felt wooden.
Wooden was exactly the word I was looking for...

Re: Warning to Deepcrush
Technically, as I am new here, I was warned and then banned for the same thing I was warned for, so technically I wasn't even warned. Anyway, just saying, not trying to rock the proverbial boat, but, arguing with Mod<anti semitism.

Nero
I just rewatched it on Blu-Ray, and it still looks great, but one problem with the movie, at least from my vantage point, was Nero, or Eric bana as Nero, however it should be taken. What I mean by that is I couldn't really connect with him. Everything seemed forced, and the character didn't feel fle...

Re: Warning to Deepcrush
First, I will say, Deepcrush, I enjoy posting on this forum with you, probably the most since I have been here, and this is in no way a comment towards you, but a WARNING for anti semitic slanted comment? But a BAN for bickering with a Moderator. I guess I'd rather be Hitler than a nuisance. What a ...

Any episode where Troi or Crusher falls in love. Ugh.
