Re: Graham

Dear Ian, I just saw this and it came as a shock. I haven't been here in a couple of years. And I think I haven't talked to Graham in a long time either. Anyway, Graham was among the people I met on the still young internet, some time around 1998. He had just launched DITL and I had just launched EA...

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise

I'm confused. What's wrong with anyone wanting others to acknowledge their opinion? We all acknowledge yours, whether or not we agreee with it. No you don't. You dismiss nearly all of my evidence with the argument "It's a universe whose point of divergence predates the arrival of the Narada, a...

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise

Captain Seafort, I see no reason to discuss the issue further with you, as you have a different idea of the whole movie and there's neither common ground with my own principles, nor with the intention of those who made it. Just one more thing I'd like to mention. If the ship had been designed to be ...

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise

Why not? You keep saying "it doesn't work like that", and providing no explanation why. Newsflash laddie - your interpretation about how Trek tech works is not the be-all and end-all of the subject. I never claimed that I know how everything works and that my interpretation is the only co...

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise

Or it's a combination of the two - it's an alternate reality, just as the MU is. It's linked to the original run, and is an offshoot of it, but has many differences, including the technological base. That doesn't mean that everything from the Geneverse can be thrown out, any more than you can compl...

Captain Seafort wrote: Agreed, especially given that the first images showed a ship with strong superficial similarities to the refit-Connie (the saucer). We were wrong. Those who scaled up the ship were wrong. Captain Seafort wrote: Why? As I said, you're using Geneverse precedent to analys...

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise

In the case of the bridge window, it is my point that it wouldn't match irrespective of the ship's size, and that a huge Enterprise would only alleviate the problem. The outer surface almost customarily doesn't match with the sets, just think of the Enterprise-D shuttlebay. Mikey wrote: Not having &...

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise

It's always great how some people like to cite my findings as being flawed, obviously without having read and trying to understand the article. But as there have been worse threads with people jumping on the "Anti-EAS" bandwagon and attacking me personally elsewhere, I think this is one of...

Re: Question: Reuse of old ships

While it has never been explicitly mentioned, there must be some sort of "subspace drag" because every kind of acceleration requires that a force is exerted upon the hull.

I couldn't resist trying it out. :happydevil: Actually, one time or another I may have run into such a blocking anyway because I just love to CTRL-click links. Especially when I discover a new site I want to explore it as fast as possible. At EAS I'm having no major problem with download tools yet. ...

Re: The Death of Trek Sites

Sorry for dropping in only very infrequently, guys. I have a forum to take care of too, and a bunch of other things. There is no feud whatsoever between DITL and EAS, and there has never been one. Whoever said that must have confused EAS with a certain other place whose name must not be mentioned. I...
