The Class E Shuttle, Archimedes, fell through a wormhole and crash landed on a moon around a gas giant. Soon after the shuttle sank into the terrain and was destroyed by the gas giant which co-insided with the moon. [2]

In 2261 the USS Enterprise investigated a peculiar area of uncharted space. What they found was a parsec of space "with gravity waves so odd, even Spock couldn't figure it out". When Ortegas used a shuttle to enter part of the region a wormhole was discovered. [2]
