Plotline

Years ago in the Section 31 laboratory we find the Burnhams working on the "Red Angel" suit. The lab is attacked by Klingons and in desperation Michael's mother dons the suit to go back in time one hour so she can warn the staff of the upcoming attack. Instead, she arrives 950 years in the future to find all sentient life destroyed by the Control A.I.

Tethering herself to a nearby planet, Dr. Burnham makes over 840 attempts to change the future, including moving humans to her new planet, Terralysium. We also discover that she was responsible for directing the Sphere to cross paths with the Discovery, in an attempt to stop Control from gaining its information.

In the present, the Discovery crew plans to upload the Sphere data into the suit and send it to the future where Control cannot access it. Control possesses Captain Leland and intercepts their download. Georgiou and Tyler confront Control-Leland and Tyler is gravely injured. The crew is forced to stop the transmission before it is complete and release Dr. Burnham back to the future, leaving the suit damaged.

Control-Leland escapes with half of the Sphere data.
