What's new - Aug 2002

A couple of additions to the new lists - Matthias Stohr points out that Bashir used the "I'm a doctor, not a..." line in DS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations", and also points out that I had forgotten a death of a Hero ship on my Big Bangs list - the loss of the USS Defiant in DS9's "The Changing Face of Evil". To this I've added "Children of Time", in which the Defiant is also destroyed. Thanks to Matthias, and please keep any more fixes like this coming!

And now yet another addition to the doctor list, as Michael Byrd points out that I missed one from First Contact.

The calculator has been updated again and now includes various refit and upgraded versions of the basic ships.

While we've been doing the calculator, a few nits have cropped up in the various places that ship strengths are listed on the site. Mostly it's minor stuff where one set of numbers contradicts another. We're fixing these as they crop up, and as a result various specifications pages have had some small changes made to them. The most notable change is to the Klingon K'T'Inga class - the strength of the early version of the ship was far too high compared to the Constitution class, so I've downgraded it significantly.

Another change to the specs pages - most of the pages now have the "Overall Strength Index" title in the specs table linked directly to the calculator. When you click the link the calculator will appear with the specs for that ship already loaded up for you. We figure this will make it easier for those who like to tweak the specs of ships, adding extra weapons and so forth.

Two new lists today. One lists all the "I'm a Doctor, not a..." type statements we've seen, and the other all the times when a 'hero' ship or station has been destroyed.

We've filled in a few missing quotes and suchlike on some of the episode guides.
