The Enterprise visits a planet inhabited by a humanoid group similar to Earth's native Americans. Captain Kirk is stranded on the planet when an alien device injures him, inducing amnesia; the Enterprise is forced to leave in order to attempt the diversion of an asteroid which is threatening the planet. Ultimately Kirk is rescued and his memory restored, and Commander Spock is able to use the alien device to successfully divert the asteroid. [1]
