The USS Enterprise encountered a member of this non-corporeal species imprisoned on a planet at the centre of the galaxy in 2285, the Great Barrier having apparently been put in place for that reason. The being impersonated a god-like figure, but was in fact quite malevolent. It was defeated with the aid of a Klingon Bird of Prey. [1]
