A non-corporeal life form which travelled through space. In 2365 a member of this species encountered the Enterprise-D and impregnated Commander Troi in order to gain humanoid corporeal form as part of an experiment to explore what life as a humanoid was like. The creature sacrificed its corporal existence in order to avoid a disaster aboard the ship. [1]
