A method of dating materials. Quantum dating did not date the age of the material, but rather the specific time when it was created. It therefore generated negative dates for any object which had travelled back in time to a point before it was originally made. The procedure was quick and simple to do with even a hand held scanner as used by Earth Starfleet in 2153. [1]
