M'kemas III [1] A Tzenkethi planet located within their borders. In 2371 the Defiant almost attacked the planet after being sabotaged by the Dominion. Fortunately the crew were able to avert the attack. [1]
M-113 [2] A Federation planet, largely dry and arid. The planet was home to some old ruins, indicating a prior civilisation there. In 2266 a pair of Federation researchers were located on the planet to investigate he ruins. Unknown to the Federation, the planet was also the home of the 'Salt Vampire' species. [2]
Maarek III [3] Planet in the Delphic Expanse. It was said to be beautiful, with beaches that went on for thousands of kilometers. This planet may be fictional, since Archer mentioned it as part of an attempt to fool Degra into revealing information about the Xindi weapon program. [3]
Mab-Bu VI [4] Class M moon [4]
Majalis [5] Majalis was an inhabited Alpha Quadrant Class N planet in the Majalan system and the homeworld of the Majalans. The surface of the planet had rivers of lava and lakes of acid, leading to the natives building large platforms to that they lived on. In order to control these platforms the designers had used a living childs brain to form the neural network that allowed the system to function. This child was referred to as the "First Servant" and was in constant pain and eventually died. A new "First Servant" would be chosen at birth and brought up to willingly sacrifice themselves for the good of the society. [5]

The planet had a rotation period of 31.9 hours and a year lasted 226.7 solar days. Its mass was estimated at 4.8694x1024 Kg. It had an estimated age of 4.522 billon years in 2249, when it was first surveyed. Its atmosphere consisted of 81.1% CO2, 12.9 Nitrogen, 5.9% Oxygen and 0.9% Argon. It had trace amounts of Methane and water vapour. The planet had a stratified habitable zone with a mean temperature of 18.1°C. This habitable zone was located in the atmosphere and was the location of the 14% water-based indigenous lifeforms. [5]

Maranga IV [14] Worf attended the Klingon Kot'baval festival on this planet in 2370. [14]
Maranga IV [14] A Klingon world located near the Vodrey Nebula. In 2370 the Enterprise-D attended the Kot'baval festival on Maranga IV so that Worf could introduce his son to Klingon culture. [14]
Marcos XII [15] Chosen by the evil Gorgan to conquer [15]
Marejaretus VI [16] Home world to the Ooolans [16]
Mariah IV [17] Visited by Valerian ship when delivering supplies [17]
Marijne VII [18] Gas Giant. The USS Raman was lost in the atmosphere in 2370, resulting in the death of seven crewmembers. Marijne VII is home to an intelligent life form of uncertain type. [18]
Mariposa [19] In the Phyecus Sector; site of Irish colony [19]
Marlonia [20] Visited by the Enterprise-D in 2369 [20]
Mars [21] Sol IV; colonized by Earth in 2103 [22] Mars is home to the Utopia Plantanitia shipyards at which the Galaxy class starships were developed. [21]

Cities on Mars included Cydonia, which was rapidly growing in the mid 2260s. [23]

In 2385 Mars was attacked by rogue androids causing the destruction of the Utopia Planetia shipyards. The fires from the attack are still burning as of 2399. [24]

McIlvain’s Planet [31] A Federation world in the Taurus reach, McIlvain's Planet was settled by Tellarians and Rigellians, each settling a different landmass. Despite the distance between the colonies, both sides did not get on well together and a case was brought before the Starfleet JAG office for arbitration. The case was referred to the Colonial Administration office. [31]
Medusa [32] Planet, home of the Medusan people. The site of a Medusan will send a Human insane. [32]
Meezan IV [33] Bashir attended a burn treatment conference here [33]
Meldrar I [34] This planet maintains a prison on one of its moons. Temperatures there are two hundred degrees in the shade Odo once threatened to send Rom to the Meldrar I prison in order to force information out of him. [34]

Melina II [36] Visited by Tarmin and his group of telepathic historians [36]
Melkot [37] Home world of the Melkotians. [37]
Melnos IV [28] planet where Neela Daren studied a plasma geyser [28]
Melona IV [38] This planet was the site of a new Federation colony in 2368. It was stripped of life by the crystalline entity during the early phase of construction of the colony. Most of the colonists survived by taking shelter in caves whose walls were lines with heavy concentrations of kelbonite and fistrium. [38]

Merak II [40] Planet ravaged by a botanical plague. [40] In the 24th century it made some of the best quality size scanners used by tailors. [41]

Mintaka III [53] Planet which was home to a Proto-Vulcan culture. The Enterprise-D visited the planet in 2366. [53]
Mira [54] A gas giant world in the Mira system. Seven smaller planets orbit the giant, including Dytallix B, also known as Mira Antilla V. [54]
Mirdonyae V [55] A planet in the Taurus Reach, Mirdonyae V was home to Shedai artefacts. It was held by the Klingons in 2266. [55]
Miridian VI [56] Barash claimed to have been captured by Romulans here [56]
Mislan [57] Delta Quadrant planet in yellow dwarf system, five parsecs from Swarm space. A vessel from the planet was destroyed by The Swarm in 2373; Janeway promised to inform the population of the loss. [57]
