Doctor Katherine Pulaski

TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Doctor Katherine Pulaski [1]
Species : Humans

Pulaski was Chief Medical Officer on the Enterprise-D in 2365. [1] Pulaski admired Data as an artificial device, but did not feel that he qualified as a true life form equal to biological life such as Humans. She once challenged Data to solve a truly original mystery in the style of his favourite detective, Sherlock Holmes. Although Data initially made a poor start, he did begin to demonstrate a more genuinely creative approach to the mystery. Unfortunately the test was cut short because an accidental command from Geordi to the ship's computer had created an opponent capable of threatening the ship itself. [2]

Whilst visiting the Darwin genetic research facility on Gagarin IV Pulaski was exposed to genetically engineered children. She thereby contracted a disease whose symptoms closely resembled rapid ageing. The transporter was able to cure her of the disease - ironic as Pulaski had always been dubious about using the device. [3] Pulaski was a long time friend of Kyle Riker, father of Will. She was his doctor after he was badly injured in a Tholian attack in 2353. The two developed a romantic attachment, and Pulaski later said that she would have married him if he had asked. She later married three other men, and although she divorced all three she said that she remained good friends with all of them. [4] She was fond of Klingon love poetry, and once took part in the Klingon tea ceremony after taking an antidote for the highly poisonous tea. [5]
