Chancellor Gorkon

TimelineQuotes
Universe : Prime Timeline
Name : Chancellor Gorkon [1]
Species : Klingons

A Klingon male. In his youth, Gorkon was a military officer. He had several encounters with Starfleet's Diego Reyes when both were ship Captains, some resulting in combat. [2]

In 2265 Gorkon was a Councillor on the Klingon ruling council under Chancellor Sturka. Sturkahad great respect for Gorkon's martial prowess, and knew that he could easily be defeated in personal combat by Gorkon. As a result, Sturka cultivated Gorkon as an ally as soon as he left his role as a battle-fleet commander and entered politics. [3]

By 2293 Gorkon had risen to Chancellor of the high council. He was known as a reformer who wanted peace with the Federation. In the aftermath of the Praxis explosion Gorkon travelled to Earth to meet with the President; he was assassinated on route by Burke and Samno after his ship was disabled by General Chang. His dying words were a plea to Captain Kirk to keep the peace process between the two powers going. [1]
