Sister to B'Etor, Lursa shared the lack of honour typical to the Duras family. She pushed for Toral to become leader of the High Council instead of Gowron, leading to the brief Klingon civil war in 2367/8.2 She escaped along with B'Etor when the war was lost.3 Lursa and B'Etor raised funding to hire mercenaries by dealing with Bajoran terrorist Tanah Los in 2369.4 Lursa was killed in the Veridian system when the Enterprise-D destroyed her ship in 2371.5
