Female android. One of a series of androids made by Bruce Maddox and Altan Inigo Soong. Jana had the same appearance as Dahj and Soji. Jana accompanied Ambassador Beautiful Flower in making first contact with the Federation in 2390. The meeting proceeded well and during a meal break, they found that Jana had an unusal habit of dunking french fries in peppermint ice cream.

During the meeting however, the head of Starfleet security issued a black flag directive instructing the ship's captain Alonzo Vandermeer to kill Jana and the Ambassador, or face the destruction of his ship with all hands. Vandermeer obeyed, killing both with a hand phaser. [1]
