A Human Starfleet officer during the 22nd Century, Commodore Paris was the commander of Starbase Yorktown in 2263. She cautioned Captain Kirk about the dangers of deep space exploration when he visited the base in that year, commenting that he would not be the first person to 'get lost' out there in the vastness of space, and that all he had to rely on was his ship, his crew, and himself.
