A future version of the Starfleet officer Data, created by Barash on his advanced holodeck-equivalent. Data was first officer on the future Enterprise-D. Flaws in Data's characterisation were one of the things which made Commander Riker realise that he was inside a simulated environment rather than actually in the future. [1]
