A citizen of the United States during the mid 21st century, Lily was a member of Zefram Cochrane's warp propulsion team. Her duties included scrounging up materials and she was slated to be a member of the Phoenix's crew on the first warp flight. Lily was injured in a Borg attack on the site of her project, and was taken to the Enterprise-D for treatment. Whilst there she developed a friendship with Captain Picard and ultimately helped him to make the decision to destroy the ship to prevent it from being assimilated by the Borg, though in the event this proved to be unnecessary. Lily returned to Earth shortly afterwards and was present for the first contact with the Vulcans.1
