A director at the San Francisco cetacean institute, Taylor cared deeply for the two humpbacked whales which the institute housed in the late 20th century. She was intensely curious about Admiral Kirk when he and Spock visited the time period, and managed to force her way aboard his captured Bird of Prey, HMS Bounty. She returned with Kirk to his own time, where she signed aboard a Federation science vessel in order to facilitate her introduction to the future.1
