Mardah was a resident of Deep Space Nine in 2371. She had a brief romantic involvement with Jake Sisko, something his father found a little distressing at first since she worked for Quark as a Dabo girl. However, Sisko came to accept her more when he realised how much she cared for his son. Mardah has a brother and sister named Sarjeno and Koran; neither approved of her career choice, and they had not spoken for years.2 Her relationship with Jake ended when she was accepted to the science academy on Regulus III, three hundred light years from Deep Space Nine.1
