A Starfleet Captain, Jellico took command of the Enterprise-D in 2369 whilst Captain Picard was on a classified mission. Jellico was a bombastic character who rarely listened to advice from others and did not inspire a great deal of loyalty from the crew.2 Nevertheless he was able to successfully counter a Cardassian attempt to sieze control of Minos Korva.3
