A Chameloid, Martia was capable of assuming a wide variety of shapes and sizes. She used this capability to help Captain Kirk and Doctor McCoy to escape from Rura Pente, but was in fact working with the Klingon guards to provide an excuse for the two officers to be killed. Martia herself was killed by the Klingons.1
